Account Center Maintenance Extended Until 8pm

Update: The Account Center is now back online at Accounts.EAMythic.com

Looks like the account center maintenance has been extended until 8pm, and not 3:30pm EST as previously reported:

We now anticipate the the Account Center will back online by 8:00pm EDT this evening.

Due to the importance of this information we will be updating the Herald with a new post for each update today.

We thank you again for your patience and apologize for the inconvienence this may have caused you.

I will be updating this post as they update the UO Herald.

Account Center Down Until 3:30 PM EST

Update: At least 8pm EST

I think it’s been down for a bit, but Rowland Cox posted this a few minutes ago:

Greetings!

The Account Center is currently offline. We anticipate that it will be back online no later than 3:30pm EDT. Please visit UOHerald.com for for updates on the Account Center maintenance today.

Thank you for your patience today.

Hopefully this will fix some issues people were having.

They still should post tutorials about using the account management center.

BioWare Mythic at PAX – UO Announcement Perhaps?

I was looking at the PAX Prime schedule and saw BioWare is making three presentations next week. For those of you not familiar with PAX, PAX is a three-day game “festival” that covers videogames (and not just consoles – PC and Mac as well). They have discussions and presentations from publishers. PAX is taking place August 26th – 28th, 2011, in Seattle Washington.

Those three BioWare presentations are:

BioWare Mythic – Content to be Announced
Pegasus Theatre
Saturday 5:30pm – 6:30pm
Come and meet the minds behind some of your favorite games plus check back to this page for exciting updates as PAX draws closer…

Dragon Age – The Future
Unicorn Theatre
Saturday 9:30pm – 10:30pm
Join BioWare and members of the Dragon Age development team as they discuss the Dragon Age franchise with a look back at what has been done so far and a look ahead to what you can expect in the future. BioWare staff and Dragon Age team members will be on hand to answer questions and to give a look at what is still to come for Dragon Age.

Star Wars: The Old Republic: The Force is Strong with This One
Main Theatre
Sunday 2:00pm – 3:00pm
The master storytellers at BioWare and LucasArts have worked together to create an immersive experience with Star Wars: The Old Republic. The Old Republic team will be in full force at PAX this year, with a new presentation showcasing the development and progress of this genre changing story-driven MMO! Expect new reveals, exclusive gameplay footage, and a Q&A with attendees. Join us!

The “content to be announced” is very interesting as far as I’m concerned. Now most likely it will be the Warhammer Online: Wrath of Heroes game that was just announced in Germany at Gamescom this past week. At the time this schedule was assembled for the PAX festival, the Warhammer game had not been announced, and so it makes sense that they would use a generic description.

However they do mention a plural “games” when talking about developers who will be at that presentation/discussion. Now what else is happening next week? We are getting the details of Ultima Online Publish 72 which should include the first significant details about UO’s high resolution artwork update, as well as information about UO’s 14th anniversary. If BioWare Mythic is going to have personnel from multiple games there, it would stand to reason that they would not pass up a chance to draw attention to an artwork/graphics update for UO.

UO Publish 72 Details Next Week

Bright Side of Life

Can you remember back to the beginning of July?. For me, since early July it’s been nearly 50 days of 100+ degree heat (38 degrees Celsius for the rest of you). That’s when we were told to expect the following:

After July expect to see the following:
· Clean up Britannia (the update formerly known as Spring Cleaning) – We are currently testing and evaluating about 850 items with turn ins and rewards
· Anniversary item additions
· Art resolution updates to the Enhanced client
· Veteran Rewards

Earlier today we were told this:

Look for information on Pub 72 and Ultima’s 14 year Anniversary later next week!

I’m not saying that next week’s details about Publish 72 in any way, shape, or form, make up for the account management issues and other problems that players in UO and our sister games Dark Age of Camelot and Warhammer Online have been experiencing over the past week or two. I believe that while they are currently painful, those problems will eventually pass, hopefully with a positive outcome for all. Discussion of Publish 72 will be a nice diversion, and who knows, maybe they will get more of the issues sorted out by then.

UO Account Center Maintenance – August 22

A major update on the Account Center Migration, along with a bit of news that we’ll find out more about Publish 72 and UO’s 14th Anniversary sometime next week.

Early next week the Account Center will be offline for an update. We will update you on expected downtime for both the account center and game servers as we know more. We do not expect the combined downtime to take longer than several hours.

Over the past week we have gathered and evaluated player inputs on the account center, and will update and adjust account information based on this feedback.

We disabled many of the billing processes to avoid inappropriate or untimely charges during the transition to the new account center.

Our first step in is to update and process all those on any form of recurring billing. This means If you are charged for 30, 90, or 180 days at regular periods, AND were set to bill during the period from August 5th, through the time in which we enable the account center, you will be charged.

Also, during this update, we will re-enable and extend gametime for those whose accounts were incorrectly moved to an inactive status. For anyone whose accounts may have lapsed due to an expiring gametime card, your time will be appended.

The ability to redeem game registration codes and other codes which allow you to connect to and play the game will run once we are confirmed the first part of the process is running smoothly.

Our intent is to maintain player and character data for anyone who updated their subscriptions during this transition to the new account center.

We will also re-enable account age and veteran rewards.

Again, if you call into for support, please request an incident number as we are also tracking feedback for our use during this time.

Thank you again, for your patience during this time.

Look for information on Pub 72 and Ultima’s 14 year Anniversary later next week!
